Anna gives tours of the house to the public.  She loves getting people excited about history and crafting with kids of all ages.  Her favorite object in the collection is the Colombian butterfly collected by Louis Agassiz.

Garrett gives tours of the house to the public.  He enjoys researching and talking about Washington and the Revolution, and he is learning to like poetry.  His favorite object in the collection is Francis Dana’s waistcoat.

David works with the museum collections behind the scenes.  His favorite object in the collection is the bronze candle holder in the shape of a monkey collected by Charles Longfellow.

Kate Hanson Plass, Museum TechnicianLONG 4414 - small

Kate works with the museum collections behind the scenes.  She enjoys solving puzzles in historic research and learning about people through their things.  Her favorite object in the collection is Fanny Longfellow’s writing desk.

Beth Law, Site Manager

Beth leads the team here at the house, and is also a frequent researcher in the archives. Her current favorite object is Fanny’s journal from Switzerland, which she transcribed.

Chris, our resident “Artchivist,” works with the archival collections and assists researchers. She is also one of the site’s devoted “Fanny nerds”. Her favorite object in the collection is the Jean-Baptiste Isabey, 1836, portrait of Fanny and her sister Mary Appleton.
